Community Life
Messiah is a small parish with a big impact.
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew (our men’s group) and the Daughters of the King (our women’s group) meet on the third Saturday of every month at 8:30am for breakfast, conversation, and prayer. They are always willing to lend a hand to keep the parish clean and functional. Events like the Brotherhood’s annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper support worthy causes and provide time for fun and fellowship.
The choir is open to all who wish to make a joyful noise on Sunday mornings.
The “Messiah Anglican Shoppe” in the parish hall sells a variety of themed parish and Episcopal items, as well as handmade pieces perfect for gift-giving. Proceeds go directly to our community outreach efforts.
We partner with a variety of great resources to better serve our community. We collect clothes, toiletries, and food based on our partners’ needs as a way of involving everyone in our community in service. We directly support REACH of Cherokee County, the Hulbert Johnson Friendship House, the Cherokee County Food Pantry, the Good Samaritan Fund of the Cherokee County Ministerial Association, and other social justice organizations regularly.
